Experience means being able to answer a lot of questions

We've been involved in residential estate agency for more than 50 years and have worked on the Costa del Sol for more than 25 years. During that time, we've helped people through thousands of property transactions and dealt with many of the questions and problems that arise along the way.

That experience means we can help with the vast majority of everyday questions about buying or selling a property. We can explain how things normally work, help you understand your options and, where appropriate, tell you how we would approach a particular situation.

It doesn't mean that we know everything, and we wouldn't pretend that we do.

Sometimes we need to find the answer

If you ask us something and we don't know the answer, we'll say so.

Very often, however, we know where to find it. Over the years we've built relationships with people working in many different areas connected with property, and sometimes finding the answer is simply a matter of asking the right person.

If we don't have the information you need, we'll do our best to find it and come back to you.

Sometimes you need specialist help

There are also questions where general information or experience isn't enough.

A property transaction can involve legal, financial, tax and technical matters, and there are times when the right answer is to take advice from somebody appropriately qualified in that particular field. We also provide general information about the costs and taxes involved when residents and non-residents sell property in Spain.

This doesn't mean every question needs to start with a lawyer, accountant or other professional. Often we can help you understand the issue first and work out whether specialist advice is actually necessary, and if it is, we'll tell you.

Knowing what you don't know matters too

Experience isn't only about accumulating answers. It also helps you recognise when a question goes beyond your own knowledge or when there simply isn't enough information to give somebody a reliable answer. We would rather tell you that we don't know than give you an answer simply because you asked for one. When we do know the answer, we'll give you our honest view, even if it isn't necessarily the answer you were hoping for.

Sometimes there isn't a definitive answer. Property markets change, people's circumstances are different and nobody can predict the future with certainty. Where the answer is a matter of judgement rather than fact, we'll make that clear too.

Buying, selling or simply trying to understand
