Walking Distance to Everything, Could This Be Your Ideal Costa del Sol Location?

Many buyers at the point of first enquiry ask one simple thing: they want to be within walking distance of everything. In reality, finding a location that genuinely offers easy access to the beach, shops, restaurants, and everyday amenities is not as easy as you might think. Looking at, for example, the Miramar area of Fuengirola, we can see that these requirements are achievable.


Everything within walking distance can give you the ideal Costa del Sol location

One of the wish list items that we are most often asked for is, "We want to be within walking distance of everything."

It really is a simple request, but in truth, it can be incredibly difficult to deliver a property that gives you everything within walking distance. Many homes are advertised as being close to all amenities, but once you look more closely, you may still need the car for everyday shopping, to go out for a meal or for a trip to the beach.

Of course, the definition of "everything" can vary from one buyer to another. But for us, in real terms, it means being able to walk to the beach, shops, supermarkets, cafés and restaurants, with the things you want to use day to day close by. This allows you to leave the car at home most days and simply enjoy getting around on foot.

It sounds simple, but finding all those things together in one location is not always easy. One area that we think deserves more attention is Miramar in Fuengirola. Although it may not be the first place that comes to mind for everyone, it does offer a level of convenience that is not easy to find. For example, the beach is only around 200 m away. The Miramar Shopping Centre is a similar distance, and there are cafés, restaurants and local shops nearby. For those who enjoy walking, the centre of Fuengirola can also be reached on foot in around 20 minutes. There is also a regular bus service, so it is easy to spend the day doing all the things you might want to do without using the car.

When we are talking to buyers about their wish list, we are always keen to find out exactly what they are looking for and what their lifestyle will be. When the words "walking to everything" are used, there are a few places up and down the coast that we feel meet this requirement, and Miramar is one of them. A good example is this three-bedroom apartment in Miramar, which brings together many of the features buyers ask us for. It has a garage parking space, a communal pool, landscaped gardens and a padel tennis court. The home itself offers three bedrooms and two bathrooms, so it is ideal for families.
