Mijas Pueblo, the well known white washed village which nestles on the mountainside overlooking the Mediterranean sea.
Probably one of the most appealing villages in Spain, many tourists make the pilgrimage up the mountain each year to visit this typical Andalucian village of whitewashed houses and to appreciate the stunning views of the coast.
Mijas has managed to maintain its charm and character despite it’s popularity and despite the number of foreign residents who now call the town home. This is not the place for high street shopping but it is a delight to wander through the maze of narrow streets, appreciating the architecture and the blaze of colours and aromas for the wide variety of plants that trail from the balconies over the streets.
In amongst all of this you will find a wealth of restaurants bars and even clubs which nestle next to the shops selling arts, crafts and local produce. There are even donkey taxis for the tourists although the more contemporary diesel powered taxi is by far the quickest way to get around.
Like most Spanish towns Mijas has its bull ring. The 100 year old ring in Mijas is quite unusual as it is oval instead of the usual circle. It still hosts bull fights today.
Surrounding the Pueblo there is a wide variety of residential areas and the choice of property is wide. As with most other locations on the Costa del Sol, whatever you want or need is to be found here!
