Calahonda

Calahonda can be all things to all men and has an enduring popularity with visitors for both holidays and permanent living.    Whilst it is self sufficient in terms of shopping, restaurants, beaches and bars it is more geared to families with the party set more likely to head toward Puerto Banus , Benalmadena or Torremolinos.    Calahonda is part of Mijas Costa and is situated between Marbella and Fuengirola within an easy 20 minutes drive of both.   English is the predominant language here.

Calahonda is located close to several golf courses and has the sun-drenched beaches for which the Costa del Sol is famous. Just along the road, within a few kilometers is Puerto Cabopino, which is the most secluded and picturesque marina on the Costa and is a popular for its restaurants and beautiful sandy beaches.

From the beach the land climbs quite steeply meaning that Calahonda offers some of the most spectacular views on the coast.   Many of the homes on the upper slopes have stunning views of the whole coastline.

Within the boundaries of Calahonda there are two golf courses, La Siesta and Miraflores although as always on the Costa del Sol there are many more within a short drive.
